Read what former Millbrook Diploma Programme students had to say about their experiences with Millbrook's IB Diploma Programme!
“The IB Programme is a rigorous program that taught both my kids to manage time wisely and plan ahead. They learned crucial writing and research skills that are critical to an easy college transition.”
Beth Johnson, mother of Christy Johnson, Class of 2017, University of
North Carolina, Chapel Hill and Ryan Johnson, Class of 2017
Thanks for providing Trevor the opportunity to take advantage of the IB Programme. While many of the Programme's benefits were apparent along the way, the full value of the experience came into sharper focus once it had completed and could be reflected on in totality.
On the one hand, there's the perspective that many experiences/challenges in life can benefit from a multi-disciplinary viewpoint, rather than the more narrow viewpoint of a single discipline. On the other hand, and more importantly, it's critical to maintain an understanding that there are many different points of view, and cultures, and belief systems on this planet we share.
Trevor is off to a great start at Dartmouth. And he's enjoying the intellectual challenges of a great school, as well as the wide student body diversity that such a school can provide.
Don Davis, father of Trevor, Class of 2014, Dartmouth University
As parents of two students that have participated in the IB program (2014 & 2017 Grads), my wife and I have witnessed first-hand many facets of the IB program. There is the demanding nature of the coursework & associated workload and the extra effort (extreme at times) that it takes to succeed. There is the occasional student heartbreak that is accompanied by setbacks, tough choices and struggles. But there is also the student’s individual growth and pride that only comes from achievements gained as a result of personal commitment and hard work. And there is significant bonding, camaraderie, new friendships formed, and certainly plenty of good fun enjoyed by all that engage and participate! From a parent perspective that is a joy to see - and we are so appreciative to Dana King, Loren Baron, and the entire IB team for the efforts you all make each day to cultivate that environment, and for the continuous efforts made to improve this program each and every year!

Ben Sargent, Class of 2014, University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill
I also wanted to thank you (and all the teachers) for the past 2 years, Jose had a great experience in the IB program and I know he is prepared for college. The curriculum helped him to manage his time better and developed his critical thinking. I'm very happy to see that he is ready for the next step.
Graciela Barolli, mother of Jose Sintas, Class of 2015, University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill
I fully believe that the IB Programme prepares students for college. Even David admits that he is much more prepared for the rigor than other students who have not been through the programme!
Janice McCampbell, mother of David McCampbell, Class of 2014,
University Of North Carolina, Chapel Hill
My daughter said “I want to do the IB program because it will help prepare me for college coursework”, and it has. She felt confident going in to college that she had the time management, organization, and study skills she needed to be successful. She knows how to think and solve problems and she knows how to write a paper! It’s not just about getting into college, it’s about what you do once you get there.
Michele Graves, mother of Jessica Graves, Class of 2014, Clemson University
I know that the study habits, the time management skills, and the critical thinking that IB helped develop in Dayna has helped her be successful in college. She has not been overwhelmed by the course demands and handles her time very well. She also is not afraid to ask questions in class that stimulate discussion and this has impressed teachers. I think these skills were honed, reinforced, and encouraged by being in IB.
